Cruzan, on the island of Saint Croix, traces its rum making to the Estate Diamond plantation, with 1760 commonly cited. It is a column-still distillery whose output includes light rums and a range of flavoured expressions. The Nelthropp family held it for generations before Fortune Brands bought it in 2008, and it passed to Beam Suntory afterwards. Visitor tours run on site.
