Demerara Distillers was formed in 1952 from older producers and now operates at Diamond, East Bank Demerara, where it has gathered stills from closed estate distilleries. Among them are the wooden Versailles single pot, the Port Mourant double pot and the Enmore wooden Coffey, each linked to marques named after the estate. The distillery sells under its own El Dorado line and supplies bulk Demerara rum to independent bottlers.
