Hampden, in Trelawny parish, is generally cited as dating to 1753 and is one of the few Jamaican plantations still distilling on its own estate. It is known for very long fermentations that use dunder and the leavings of earlier batches, which give the very high ester counts behind its marks. Much of the output is sold in bulk to merchants, and the estate also bottles its own rum. Its mark system, such as DOK, OWH and C&F, is widely followed by collectors.
