Brothers Charles and Louis Isautier, who arrived on the island in 1832, founded the business in 1845, and it is still run by the family from Saint-Pierre in the south of Reunion. Isautier produces white, amber and aged rhums, and is especially known for arranged rhums, in which fruit and spices steep in cane spirit. Together with Savanna and Riviere du Mat it contributed to the Charrette blend organised by an economic interest group in 1972.
