The distillery near Beenleigh in south-east Queensland is claimed to be Australia's oldest licensed distillery, dated to 1884, when it began as a sugar mill and distillery on the Albert River. It has had several owners over the years and now trades as Beenleigh Artisan Distillers at Eagleby. It makes the Beenleigh rum, the high-strength Inner Circle brand and a series of aged and special releases. Ownership at present could not be confirmed from a company source.
