Located at the foot of Mount Pelee in Macouba, the Domaine de Bellevue estate has a cited founding of 1790. The rhum takes its initials from Jean-Marie Martin, a twentieth century owner. Cane grows on volcanic soils close to the Atlantic coast and the distillery runs a Creole column. It joined the Hayot group in the early 2000s. The whites, ambers and vintage releases are a staple of agricole collectors, and the estate has a visitor centre and museum on site.
