Antigua Distillery was started in the early 1930s, with sources giving 1932 or 1933, by a group of local businessmen who wanted to control the molasses supply and distillation. It makes the Cavalier and English Harbour rums, aged in used casks. It buys molasses from the region and produces light column spirit. Production has grown and the company supplies local and export markets.
