South Pacific Distilleries operates at Lautoka on Viti Levu, the sugar town of western Fiji, and is the best-known rum distillery in the country. It buys molasses from the Fiji sugar industry and sells rum under the Bounty brand, a dark style that is popular within the islands. The company dates to about 1980, a figure that could not be verified, and its ownership structure is not confirmed in the sources used. A separate Fiji Rum Co distillery is not covered here.
