The West Indies Rum Distillery, also tied to the West India Rum Refinery, goes back to the late nineteenth century and is based in Brighton, Saint Michael. It makes the Cockspur brand and supplies large volumes of bulk rum to other labels. It also distils the base used in some well-known flavoured spirits. Some of its pot-still output has appeared under independent bottlers' own names.
